Our shaft straightening tolerance is .002” measured anywhere on the shaft. This is far tighter than “industry standard” which is usually about .005” - .006”. All shafts in for repair are dye penetrating checked for cracks. We strongly recommend that all shafts brought in for straightening have the coupling also brought in and have fitted and faced off after the shaft is straightened. All tapered couplings are lapped onto the shaft tapers. We pay special attention to keyways on the shafts we manufacture; spooning and smoothing all sharp edges to reduce any stress risers.
Shaft straightening up to 5”
Shaft manufacturing up to 4” in-house, larger sizes are made off-site.
